BECOMING ALEX GRADISHER

As a young child living in the BIGGEST LITTLE CITY IN THE WORLD; staring up at Sierra Nevada’s, the yearning for adventure, for mountains, for tackling a challenge began to form. An internal drumbeat pounding out “one more ridge, one more mile, one more summit. It’s just right over there anyways.” the drum simply states. If it's the biggest, hardest, and most challenging… I am doing it.

Those that hear this drum know; you only get to the summit by rigorous preparation, you can only ride down by overcoming your fears. You have no room to think of anything else but avoiding a tree, a rock, or a cliff ledge; our minds shut off from all the over thinking. Instinctively, all those skills you have developed over the years kick in. My drive may have been born at the base of the Sierra Nevada’s but striving for an always bigger challenge, has brought me to the roof of the nation, Denver, the mile-high city and the Rocky Mountains.  

As photographer I combine my intimate knowledge of leading an active lifestyle, my drive for the next challenge and relentless pursuit of visual communication.

It is hard to explain to those who have never experienced that internal drum beat, but for those that do it’s easy to recognize.
